24 days left-Service Tree

Today we had a welcome to Christmas Countdown 2012 breakfast.  There were kisses and candy canes lining the floor in the hallway to welcome my cute sleepy heads.  That however turned into a "let's throw candy at Sara to wake her up", moment.  We had bacon, eggs, donuts, and hot chocolate.  It put everyone in a very good mood.

This is our "Service Tree".

Inside the package was this little note with three notebooks.  I wanted this month to be filled with service, but not the kind that makes you feel like you have adopted the neighborhood.  The kind of service that helps you realize that opportunities are all around us.  Things like a compliment, a note, watching for someone who needs a little help at the store or school.   After the kids perform any act of service they will record it in the notebook.  On Christmas Eve we will take the notebooks, wrap them up and it will be our gift to Christ, a record of all the small acts of service this year.

This is a peek into the book, I LOVE IT!!

This year in our ornament box are small ornaments with different titles that Christ through the scriptures,  if the kids can find the scripture reference and put the in their notebook then they can take a piece of candy as well.
